Working from home benefits
This post gets more personal than my usual content, but it involves something I am passionate about and willing to share. I am a true animal lover. Partial to dogs but pretty much any heartwarming animal video or commercial gets me emotional. I am obsessed with The Dodo videos on Facebook – do you follow them? Stories from all over the world about animal rescues and amazing animal tales.
One of my joys working from home is sharing my office with my little lab mix. He is the best office mate. Mostly he just snuggles in his dog bed. He is our third lab - my favorite breed although I love so many others! We keep downsizing LOL. Storm is about 50 pounds of easily excited energy. Our last lovable lab, Mosby, was around 75. I am including a picture of that sweet boy too.
We rescued both Mosby and Storm. We are pretty sure Mosby was full bred labrador, but Storm is curious mix of breeds according to the DNA report. His mamma was a stray in Alabama. Someone graciously took her in and realized she was pregnant. The rescue we worked with brought the ten pups to Virginia and we fell in love with Storm. He was a full eight pounds when we picked him up at ten weeks old - so little and so adorable.
Our days are pretty consistent. "We" have coffee and breakfast. I try to begin every day with a short bible study or some journaling. I started this routine a couple of years ago and find it centers and calms me. Most days I will either fit in a short workout or take Storm for a trail walk. The trail walks are definitely preferred by Storm. He will let me know throughout the day if a squirrel is "endangering" the property or if a fox runs through the back yard. I appreciate having a lookout LOL. Although he is about 50/50 on letting me know if a package has been delivered at the front door. I guess wildlife is more of a threat.
We are so lucky that Storm picked us, and he is my favorite little shadow.
Live Love Rescue

To wrap up, if you are an animal lover like me, I’m positive you understand the joy they bring to life with their unconditional love, goofiness and steadfast loyalty. Either way, I hope that you have something that brings you joy every day!
