Virtual Bookkeeping Assistant
Do you have experience with QuickBooks or another accounting/bookkeeping software program? Have you worked in an office helping with the budget, expenses/purchases or invoicing? If so, marketing yourself as a Bookkeeping Assistant makes sense. Obviously don’t oversell but having some experience with these tasks = include this service on your list!

Bookkeeping Assistant Tasks
What are some of the tasks that a bookkeeping assistant would do? Here are a handful that I’ve done supporting my bookkeeping clients.
1. Data Entry 2. Coding expenses that hit the bank account or credit card 3. Creating and sending invoices 4. Tracking payments on invoices (QBO and other systems have auto reminders that you can set up, but sometimes a personal touch works better) 5. Pulling reports for time/hours from one system and translating that into an invoice as directed by the client 6. Keeping the client list clean by adding new clients, updating existing clients and deleting former clients (or just archiving)
Printable Calendars - daily, weekly, monthly and yearly
7. Social media posts – start by creating a calendar because your client may have specific topics they want to address at certain times i.e. quarter end/year-end/tax time/budgeting etc.
These are also tasks you could market to an accountant. And this is just scratching the surface when it comes to bookkeeping.
Final Thought? The end goal is that the tasks above are time consuming, not extremely complicated and will save your client TIME!
